Wow! I've hardly had time to write... but we have arrived... we have now been walking these cobblestone streets for almost 3 days, and enjoying our guatemalan food and friends... spanish! :0) Finding internet is hard, but we'll eventually get in the grove and I'll be able to post more regularly. For now... quick bullet points...
- LOVE my house mom!...her name is Marta Julia and she is 65 and just delightful!
- Guatemala is BEAUTIFUL and i love love LOVE being out of the U.S. and in a new culture and environment.
- (yes), i miss my family && friends...
- my roommates are pretty great though which is nice, and we have a random boy (kevin) at our home stay too, but just till the end of this month.
- Spanish classes start Monday and I CAN'T WAIT!!!
- We toured the ruins of la iglesia san francisco el grande (a massive monastery) and el museo de capuchins (house of the nuns) today...very interesting and educational... plus some amazing architecture that i really appreciated.
Now, I need to go.. but I'll leave you with a few pics....
